Seeing Plaza Parahyangan, the 1983-founded Distro Center in the City of Bandung

One of the fashion shopping centers in Kota Bandung is Plaza Parahyangan which has been operating since 1983 and is also known as the city's oldest shopping mall.

Plaza Parahyangan was more like a typical shopping mall at first then distros began to come to life between 2003 to 2004.

Plaza Parahyangan started to fill up with distros as the community grew and Bandung gained notoriety for its distros, earning the title of a distro center.

Almost 300 brands are currently registered at Plaza Parahyangan by over 200 persons. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, this number was lower and might approach 500 brands.

The building has 5 stories and is located at Jalan Dalem Kaum Number 54. The building has undergone major renovation on the ground floor area. Later, the ground level will be converted into a food court area.

Deni Kurniawan, the marketing and promotion manager of Plaza Parahyangan said that the construction of a food court area on the ground level was done as a promotional measure to pique tourists' interest in visiting other places of the plaza.

(Make Distro) is the slogan of Plaza Parahyangan. According to Deni, the distro is a well-known feature of the city of Bandung.

"We have the ability to create our own distros, manufacture and wear them. The objective is to support regional goods. Plaza Parahyangan also gave rise to several significant brands, "said Deni.
